About Clumber Spaniels
About Muffin The Clumber Spaniel
As for personality I have seen them described as playful, silent, intelligent and pleasant, this brings me to Muffin;
Silent, yes, unless she wants something then she gets very noisy but she doesn't do guard duty.
Playful and Pleasant-I describe her as my loveable rogue, she looks like butter wouldn't melt in her mouth and has won many admirers as a result but she can be a real terror if she doesn't get her own way. She loves to play ball and chase our poor cat, fortunately now puss does get more peace as Muffin is not as agile as she was.
Clumber Spaniels and Golf Balls!
She especially loves golf balls, we open the drawer where her golfies are kept, she fetches them out and puts them away after her (although this part does take some persuading), she loves to say hello to people but one day in our local park she went a bit to far, she saw a couple playing golf so had to say hello she was getting the usual aww isn't she lovely, how sweet etc. but unknowing to the couple she had of course helped herself to one of the golf balls lying on the ground, fortunately they saw the funny side and let her keep it.
Intelligence of Clubmber Spaniels...
Intelligent-can't argue with this one she can work things out to get what she wants, like the time there were cakes in boxes left on the kitchen work top, out of reach so we thought, but Muffin, being very much younger and more agile at the time, climbed onto a chair then onto the kitchen table and helped herself but she couldn't get down so we got home to find her standing on the table wagging her tail with that happy smiling face some dogs have obviously very proud of her achievements and despite our best efforts to scold it was impossible the whole scene was so funny.
Muffin is a bit of a clown and keeps us smiling with some of her antics it is very difficult to stay angry with her for long and unfortunately she knows it.
This is "Muffin" the Clumber Spaniel...
